William was born in 1909 at Howes Valley, Singleton the son of William Merrick and Lillian Medhurst. William died at Wyong in 1966 at the age of 56 years and was buried at Branxton cemetery. Married in 1939 at Cessnock to Florence Pearl STEWART.
