Biography

Ellen was born in 1862. She is the daughter of Philip Merrill and Sarah Whittington.

Ellen, (her death certificate calls her Ella), died on March 5, 1948, in Seaside, Clatsop County, Oregon. She was buried on March 9 in the Ocean View Cemetery in Astoria, also in Clatsop County.

Living with her are her children, Ella, 22; Edward, 21; Clara, 18; Willie, 17; and Maggie, 14. Her son, John Thomas and his wife, Mary, are living next to her. Ella is listed as a farmer.^[2]

Campbell, 27, and George's daughter, Ava P. Campbell, 25, and their daughter, Leona M. Campbell, 3, and Ella's brother, Edward Merrill, 55. George is working as a laborer in the shipyard while Roy is listed as a machinist in a garage.^[4]
