DOB: 3 Jul 1840, Stockton, Chautauqua County, New York __ DOD: 5 Sep 1907, Hingham, Plymouth County, Massachusetts __ William Henry Merrill associate editor of the Boston Herald died at his summer home at Hingham, Mass. Aged 67 years. Born in Stockton, Chautauqua County. When he was 7 years of age his parents removed to Warsaw and he received his education in the district school and the Warsaw Academy. When 15 years of age he entered the office of the Wy. Co. Mirror as an apprentice and 2 years later he became one of its proprietors and the local editor. Later he owned and conducted the Western New Yorker. He was clerk of the Wy. Co. Board of Supervisor's for 3 years and held many other offices of honor and trust. He went to Boston in 1875.
