Biography
Lucy Merrill was born 1691 in Newbury, Essex, Massachusetts to John Merrill and Lucy Webster.
She married Benjamin Stanly. The vital records of Haverhill, Massachusetts, indicate that Lucie Meriel and Benj[amin] Stanly married "before 1716."[1] Their first recorded child, Ruth, was baptized in 1713.
Lucy passed away in 1742 in Boxford, Essex County, Massachusetts. She was buried in West Parish Cemetery, Haverhill, Essex County, Massachusetts.[2]
Research Notes
This profile stated that Mansur gave the date of the marriage of Lucy Merrill and Benjamin Stanly as November 15, 1714.[3] This date is problematic, as it is more than a year after the birth of their first recorded child. I find no such information in the cited source. Mansur states (page 23) that Ann Stanly, daughter of Benjamin and Lucie (Merrill) Stanly, of Haverhill married Joseph Varnum on August 28, 1741, but there is no information about the date of the marriage of Benjamin and Lucie.
