Argalus was born in 1683. He was the son of William Merrill and Elizabeth Stockman. He passed away before 1727.
Argalus was named in his father's will on 23 January 1709 at Worcester Co, MD. In his will William Merrill gave to daughter Mary Baker, 50 acres of land where she now lives, the land to go after her death to her son William Baker. To son William Merrill 200 acres where he now lives (land to pass to Thomas if William dies without issue). To son Thomas 100 acres on the other side of Monatocks Branch (to son John, if no issue). To son John 200 acres on the south side of Nanticoke River, adjacent Lewis Jones' plantation. To son Francis 200 acres, part of tract given to John. To son Argalus 45 acres (to son Joshua if no issue). To wife Elizabeth on half of dwelling plantation for life, then to son Esau. He also named sons Esau, Jacob, Joshua and Joseph (in that order) and daughters Elizabeth, Perthnie and Comfort. Extrs were to be wife Elizabeth and Robert Mills. He died before 1727 at Worcester Co, MD. It was in this year that Joshua Merrill sold the land he fell heir to by the death of his brother Argalus.
