Hi!

Congratulations, you've been a WikiTree member for a month! We're glad you're here. A few quick tips to help you dive in even deeper:

Check out Beyond the Basics of WikiTree for a guide on some of our more advanced features such as Projects, Categories, Merging and Templates.

We're very active on our social sites and we have an excellent blog where you'll find our monthly newsletter as well as tips, interviews with our members and guest posts from others in the genealogy community.

And we're always looking for volunteers to assist in different ways.

As always, I'm here to help!

Eowyn

hi folks, I'm slowly working on all this.

Two main things to do: Refine and verify my tree on Ancestry, scan and post lots of family photos. Stay tuned.

Hi Susan! Now that you've had a bit of time to enjoy WikiTree, here are a few more features you may find useful:

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found on the Bio Ideas and Styles and Standards help pages.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom, or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, please ask!

Hi Susan ,

Thank you for joining WikiTree. As a WikiTree Mentor I am available to answer any questions or help solve any issues you may be having.

How To Use WikiTree is a good place to start. It is a step-by-step-guide to WikiTree basics. Our Forum is searchable or you can post a question there. The Help Index is also an important place to find how to do most tasks.

It is very important that no duplicate profiles are created in WikiTree. Please read this page for clues on avoiding profile duplication.

Feel free to ask me via my profile page if you have any questions ~Terry~

Thank you, Susan, for volunteering to help grow our worldwide family tree by adding family data and photos. At WikiTree, the amount of photos and documents you upload is unlimited and welcomed. :)

Our Honor Code, G2G message forum, help pages, search features, and many other useful links can be accessed from the menus on the upper right corner of most pages.

VERY IMPORTANT: The more documents, sources, dates, and locations you provide on the profiles you create, the stronger your branches and our mutual global tree will be. If you don't know the correct date, please estimate using before or after.

Our mission is to build a global tree with just one profile per person, so please try very hard not to add any duplicates to our shared tree.

Hope you enjoy WikiTree!

My maternal grandfather was a Ukrainian Catholic priest. Yes, in the Eastern Rite of the Catholic church, married men can be ordained priests. I have a lot of photos and documents of his life. Unfortunately, I don't know Ukrainian. I'd appreciate help translating. He came to America just before WWI, for what he thought has a short tenure, but due to world politics, got stuck in the US. He was in Pa for most of his tenure. There are LOTS of photos, e.g. grade school group class pix.

Paternal side came to US in 1850s. Both parents quickly died leaving 2 young boys who were put in separate orphanages in St Louis, MO. The brothers almost met once several decades later. I'm excited to make the original photos/docs I have available free for research. Member of Monmouth County genealogy society.
