Merritt-1940 and Merritt-1921 appear to represent the same person because: This is the same Josiah, the wife of Lucretia Lott. The 1800 birthdate is correct per census records.

Is Josiah attached to the wrong wife? The 1853 birthdate makes sense with parents' dates, but this Lucretia Lott was born in 1800.
