Marriage
François Michel Messier married Marie Anne Amiot, daughter of the late Jean Baptiste Amiot and Geneviève Guion dite Derouveray, on 6 Feb 1706 in Sainte-Anne de Varennes, Canada, Nouvelle-France. In the presence of known witnesses Ignace Hébert and Jean Baptiste Lemoyne de Martigni. The celebrant priest was Dest Claude.[1]Marie Anne passed away and was buried on 9 Feb 1725 in Varennes. Her age or exact date of death is not mentioned in the burial record.[6]

2nd Marriage
François Messier dit St-François married Marie Jeanne Duval, daughter of the late Jean Duval and Marie Lamy, on 8 Oct 1725 in Contrecœur. In the presence of known witnesses René Messier dit Duchène, Madeleine Guillet, Pierre Duval, Marc Antoine Duval, André Chapdeleine, Marie Anne Joly, André Cherbonier dit St-Laurent, Jean Baptiste Guynard dit Valcour, Louis Chapdeleine dit Larivière, Joseph Chapdeleine dit Larivière, Valerien Chapdeleine dit Larivière, and Baptiste Chapdeleine dit Larivière. The celebrant priest was Miniac. [File states: Delagoudalie granted the exemption of the three bans in the parish of the husband and wife][7] Marie Jeanne passed away and was buried on 4 Sep 1727 in Varennes, the record giving her age as around 37 years.[8]

3rd Marriage
François, widower of Marie Jeanne Duval, married his third wife Madeleine Lefebvre, daughter of Jacques Lefebvre and Marie Beaudry, on 25 Jul 1729 in Saint-François-du-Lac. The marriage record itself has not been found, and the date and location may be in error. No marriage contract has been located for them yet. St-François-du-Lac records have been consulted and there is no such marriage there. That they married is evidenced by Madeleine's funeral record in 1742. There are no known children from the marriage.

Madeleine Lefebvre, wife of François Messié, passed away on 25 May 1742 and was buried on the 26th in Varennes, the record giving her the age of around 67 years.[9]

4th Marriage
François Messier married his fourth wife Angélique Poirier, daughter of the late Pierre Poirier and Marie Montpetit, on 6 Aug 1744 in Sainte-Anne de Bellevue. In the presence of known witnesses Baptiste Lalonde, René Rivière and Dubreuil. The celebrant priest was Pertuis. [File states: An exception of two bans was granted][10]

Death and Burial
François Messie passed away on 11 Jun 1751 being given the age of around 70 years on the record. His burial was the following day in Varennes. In the presence of known witnesses Christophe Lussier and Charles Charbonneau. The officiating priest was Locoudray. [11]

Research Notes

The burial record shows his last name as "Messié", this is just a name variant. Messier and Messié sound exactly the same.
