Biography

This profile is part of the Metcalfe Name Study.

Sir Christopher Metcalfe of Nappa (b. 01 Aug 1513 - d. 09 May 1574), was the eldest son of:

  • Sir James Metcalfe of Nappa (b. c. 1460 - d. 20 Sep 1539)
  • and Margaret, daughter of Thomas Pigot of Clotherham, Yorkshire.

He led an extravagant life and at the time of his death had little more to leave his heir than Nappa and Clotherham.

Marriage

Around 1550, Christopher married Elizabeth, daughter of Henry Clifford, Earl of Cumberland. They are the parents of:
