Biography

Hugh was born about 1873, the son of William Metcalf and Sanira Barnett. He died in Hamilton, Hancock, Illinois.^[1]

In 1880, the Metcalf family lived in Tarrant County, Texas. The household included W.R. Metcalf, 38, born in Kentucky, a farmer; his wife Sanira, 38, b. TN; their children, M.R., 18; Millie, 15; S.A. (Sidney), 13, in school; John, 11, in school; Hugh, 7, b. MO; and a daughter, Geo./Keziah?, 2.^[2]

Hugh Metcalf was born in 1873 in Missouri. He married Willie Hamilton (?) (born ca. 1885). They had two daughters: Juaita, born 1909; and Martha Ruth, 1911-1964. Hugh died before 3 April 1915.^[3]

Hugh Richard Metcalfe and Miss Willie Brennen were married on 21 November 1907 in Stonewall, Texas. Mr. A.T. Ford, minister of the Gospel, officiated.^[4]

In 1910, the Metcalfe family lived in Milam County, Texas. The household included Hugh Metcalfe, 33, born in Missouri (father b. IL; mother b. TN), an attorney (?), who owned their house without a mortgage; his wife of three years (first marriage for both), Willie, 25, b. TX (parents b. Alabama), who had had one child; their daughter, Juaita, 1, b. TX.^[5]
