Research notes
LNAB
Metselaer is how Barbertie's name first appears in records. She was baptized without a surname but it's not clear if her father was using Metselaer as a surname. It definitely became a surname in Barbertie's lifetime. Quackenbush-118 12:37, 9 January 2017 (EST)

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Barbar by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Barbar:
Some sort of terrible merge has caused her parents to become 19th century Swedes so I'm going to disconnect her from Adamsen-3 and Metselar-1, and then attach her to Metselaer-2 and Dircks-71.
Hi Philip, thanks for commenting on the LNAB. I think the problem is with the mother. I believe the correct mother is Dircks-71. See my comment on Dircks-5 and see the article treating Jan, NYGBR Apr. 2001, p. 139.
Adamsen-2 and Metselaer-1 appear to represent the same person because: Same data. Metselaer-1 would most probably be the LNAB and Adamsen-2 the patronymic second name pertaining to the patronymic of the father, whom had adopted his occupation Metselaer (Mason) as last name.
