Biography
Anna Nettle Metzger was born on May 2,1875[1] in Spencer Twp., Allen County, Ohio.[2] She was the daughter of Samuel Metzger and Susan Miller.[2]
At age 19, She married John Samuel Driver on November 7, 1894 in Allen County, Ohio.[3]

They had moved to Modesto, Wood Colony Precinct, Stanislaus County, California by 1920, where they had a Farm there. Earnest-23, was still in the home along with Lawrence-17, Myrtle-10, Bernice-5, and Gertrude-3.[6]
She died on June 26, 1941,[7] at the age of 66 in Wood Colony, Stanislaus County, California, and was buried in the Wood Colony Cemetery in Salida, Stanislaus County, California.[1]
Obituary
DRIVER - Anna Nettie Driver, daughter of Elder Samuel and Susan Metzger, was born May 2nd, 1875,[1] at Lima, Ohio. Departed this life Thursday, June 26, 1941, at the age of 66 years, 1 month, and 24 days, within the bounds of the West Modesto Church District, Modesto, California.
She was united in marriage to John S. Driver, November 7th, 1894. To this union were born seven children, two sons and five daughters, namely Earnest W. Driver, Lawrence L. Driver, Ethel Rumble, Emma Blickenstaff, Mary Wise, Gertrude Skiles, and Bernice Skiles. Children were all present at the funeral occasion. There are also twenty-one grandchildren and one brother, O. I. Metzger.
Early in life at the age of 21 years, she became a member of the Old German Baptist Church and lived faithful until death.
Her death came as the result of serious burn injury, occurring about 9 o'clock in the morning while working about a large kettle in the wash house a short distance from the house, and, as she related it to the family, her clothing caught on fire from the door in the kettle drum. She made every effort to outen the flames at same time calling for help; but too late, help came, they wrapped her in blankets, extinguished the fire and helped her into the house.
In her pain and agony before being taken to the hospital she asked for the anointing of oil in the name of the Lord, which was administered.
She bore her suffering and pain in much patience and, at 10:30 in the evening of the same day, while her son Lawrence held her hand her life quietly ebbed out and the spirit went to God who gave it.
Besides her husband, Brother John Driver, and family, she leaves a host of relatives and friends to mourn their loss, but trust it's her eternal gain.
Funeral services were conducted at the West Modesto Meeting House, at 10 o'clock Tuesday July 1st, by the home brethren to a very large congregation of members, friends, and neighbors. Text Revelations 22:12-14. "Blessed are they that do his commendments that they may have right to the tree of life and may enter in through the gates into the city."
Hymns 391, 460, 392, 454. May she rest in peace until He cometh with the clouds.
