Biography

(23 Oct 2017 email from Pauline Mitchell Pierce to profile manager, Nichol-198) Abraham Mitchell, Sr, born 10 Mar. 1688 in York Co, VA, died between Oct. 1747 and Jan 1748 in Onslow Co, NC. married first Ann mnu. in Elizabeth City Co, VA in 1714. He married second Ann mnu. in Onslow Co, NC

Many give her maiden name as Middleton but with out any proof at all. The Middleton's and Mitchell's were close in both Elizabeth City County and in Onslow Co but I still do not accept that an Ann Middleton was the wife of Abraham Mitchell. If I was going to just pick out someone with out proof I would pick a daughter of Moses Houston, who left a will in Onslow dated Jan. 1744. At the time of his death he had only one living daughter but he named grandchildren named Dudley, Roberts, Williams, & Maddux and Capt. George Mitchell. He was not named as a grandchild but he was named right after the other grandchildren. He was left 50 pounds which today is valued at $8,209.9. So what would you think?
