Biography

Mary was born in 1851.

15 May 1865: Miss M G Miers and Willis Henason Dodd (36) were married in Lafayette County, Arkansas. The record notes that M G was 13 and that she had her parents consent for the marriage.^[1]

Jane Dodd was enumerated at Bright Star Post Office, Sulphur Fork Township, Lafayette County, Arkansas for the July 15, United States Census, 1870. She was noted as born 1850-1851 in Georgia and keeping house as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are male W H Dodd, female Jane Dodd, male Jesse J Dodd, female Lucinda Dodd, female Emma S Dodd, female Senora Dodd and female Martha Dodd.^[2]

Mary J Dodd was enumerated as wife of the head of household at Sulphur, Miller County, Arkansas for the April 26, United States Census, 1910. She was noted as born 1852 in Georgia and had been married forty-four years. She was at home (housework) and the mother of five children, of which four were still living as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are head William H Dodd, granddaughter Verna L Murray, granddaughter Dovie B Murray and hired man Bert B Parker.^[7]

She is buried at the Macedonia Baptist Cemetery in Doddridge, Miller County, Arkansas.^[8]
