He emigrated to New Zealand in 1920.

He married Emily Caroline (Carrie) Neame in Tauranga in 1928. [4] They had two children.

MILLAR—NEAME.
A wedding of considerable interest in Waikato was celebrated on July 19 at Holy Trinity Church, Tauranga, by Rev. A. F, Hall, when Caroline Neame, fifth daughter of Mr and Mrs F. Neame, of Kumara,—Westland, was married to Andrew Millar, youngest son of Mr and Mrs T. Millar, of Kilsyth, Scotland. The bride, who was given away by Mr J. Y. Cameron, wore a charming frock of silver lame and ivory georgette, and a veil and ivory georgette, and a long silver embroidered tulle veil and circlet of orange blossoms. She was attended as bridesmaids by Miss Betty Ryder, who wore wisteria georgette and pale primrose lace, and Miss Mary Neame, sister of the bride. [5]

He passed away in Whakatane on 2 October 1982[6] and is buried in Hillcrest Cemetery, Whakatane.[7]
