Andrew Millar was born in 1899 in Banton, Stirlingshire, Scotland. [1] He was the son of Thomas Miller and Margaret (Sneddon) Miller.
At the time of the 1901 Census Andy is living in Banton with his parents and several siblings. [2]

Andy's father died in 1901 and his mother in 1905. His sister Agnes brought up the younger children.

He emigrated to New Zealand in 1920.
He married Emily Caroline (Carrie) Neame in Tauranga in 1928. [4] They had two children.
He passed away in Whakatane on 2 October 1982[6] and is buried in Hillcrest Cemetery, Whakatane.[7]
