Biography

Thomas Millard was born on 14 Nov 1728 in East Haddam, Connecticut, the son of Thomas Millard and Ruth (Dutton) Millard.[1]

He married Mary Fuller on 17 March 1748 in the First Congregation Church in Colchester, Connecticut.[2]She was the daughter of Samuel Fuller and Naomi (Rowley) Fuller. They had nine children: Isaiah, Joshua, Thomas, Mary, Noah, Anna, Daniel, Jessie and Sarah.

In the 1770's Millard and his son, along with other farmers from Connecticut, settled in Susquehanna Valley. In 1776 he was granted 1200 acres.

During the Revolutionary War, Millard was a Loyalist. He joined Butler's Rangers,[3] which included Seneca and Mohawk Indians, as well as Loyalists. Three generations of his family were members of Butler's Rangers.[4]

He was one of the first group of settlers in the western part of Canada,

Millard died in about 1789 in Canada.[5]
