Susie (Millard) Pritchard was a Floridian.

Susan Evora Bascome Millard was born on New Year's Day 1898 in Nassau, Bahamas to Charles Felix Millard and Mary Maud Wark Millard.

Susan evidently was named after her great aunt, Susan Evora Drowley Bascome, (Drowley-43) born in 1854, also in the Bahamas, who had no children of her own.

The Millard family moved to Miami, Florida sometime before 1910 - they all appeared in the 1910 US Federal Census.

Susie married twice: first, in August 1918, in Miami, Florida to Ivan Lowe, by whom she had two sons, Ivan Joseph Lowe, Jr. and Charles Edward Lowe; and second, to Andrew Lewis Pritchard, in 1937, in Broward County, Florida. The Pritchards had a son, Elvin, born in 1938.

Susan Evora Bascome Millard Lowe Pritchard died 12 July 1987 in Miami, Florida at 89 years of age. She was buried in the Miami City Cemetery.

Research Notes

According to the Family History document from Dorothy Joan Heller, "One daughter, Susan Evora, died in infancy on Cat Island..." This could be explained if this document refers to an daughter born previously whose name was "Susan Evora," and who died in infancy on Cat Island due to "an unknown type of fever." The Susan Evora Bascome Millard, who was born on New Year's Day in 1898, could have been a younger sister who had been named after the daughter who died in infancy. Another possibility is that the author of the Family History document from Dorothy Joan Heller, which cites no written sources, has Susan Evora confused with another child of Charles and Mary. More research with additional sources is needed to clarify the details of this situation.
