Email from Bill Bedwell:
I never heard Mam-Mam say a word about Will's family. One summer when I was in Rural Retreat, Harold said he was going to visit aunt Ginny [Miller] who lived across the railroad and slightly west at the next street crossing the railroad. It was called Miller Street. OR ... maybe it was the house on the same side of the railroad but next to Miller street (perhaps that is really the house, now that I think of it). Harold Lee went with Harold to visit them, but I was too shy and Frazier did not go, most likely for the same reason. They said she was very nice and had lots of cats. I think Harold's Uncle Charlie Miller (the dentist, then pharmacist) lived with her, but died before she did. Apparently they lived on an inheritance. Mam-Mam, Mama and I used to visit a family called Keys who lived near that house and it was always pointed out that Aunt Ginny lived in one of the houses we saw on the trip. Mama never seemed very interested in any of them, but Shirley and Harold did. Gladys never mentioned them either. They all mentioned that when someone in the Miller family died without a will (or with a faulty will) that a lawyer or some sort of man came to see them when they were children and offered each one of them if they (or their parents) would sign something that would prevent them from "breaking the will." They thought they were rich. Gladys always seem to begrudge that, and I think Mama did too.
