Maud (Miller) Boulton was born in the Colony of New South Wales (1788-1900)
Maud Mary Miller was born[1] on Wednesday, 17th October 1883, the daughter of John Alfred Miller and Mary Ann (Welsh) Miller, in March, New South Wales, Australia.

Maud married[2] Frederick Boulton on Wednesday, 15th April 1914 at Holy Trinity Church of England, Orange, New South Wales, Australia.

Leader (Orange, NSW : 1899 - 1945), Sat 18 Apr 1914, Page 6, WEDDING BELLS[3].
WEDDING BELLS.
BOULTON—MILLER.
Holy Trinity Church was the scene of a very pretty wedding on Wednesday last, when the Rev. Walker Taylor united in holyc wedlock Maude Mary, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Miller, of Borenore, and Frederick, second youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Boulton, of Broadlands, March. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming, being attired in a costume of ivory satin charmeuse and pointed train, finished olf with Malines lace and orange blossoms. She also wore the customary wreath and veil, and carried a showed bouquet of white dahlias and ferns, and wore a handsome gold bangle, the gift of the bridegroom. She was attended by her sister, Miss Ethel, as bridesmaid, who looked very pretty in a white embroidered costume with pink sash and white tagal hat, trimmed with white fur and feathers to match. She also carried a bouquet of white crhysanthemums and ferns, and wore a gold brooch, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr. P. Boulton, brother of the bridegroom, acted as best man, and A. P. Miller filled the role of groomsman. After the ceremony the happy couple adjourned to the residence of the bride's grandmother, where a sumptuous repast was partaken of and the usual toasts proposed were honored.
The happy couple left by the mail train for the metropolis, where the honeymoon is being spent. The bride's travelling dress was a silver grey chrystaline and black tegal hat, trimmed with white ostrich feathers. The presents were numerous and costly.

Together they had 2 children.

Nanna Maud was born in 1883 on a farm at March next door to the one where she'd live for more than 50 years after she married, but school book prizes have her at Mullion Creek School and then there are ones from Belarbigill School but think they were her brother Jack's prizes. Mum has a notebook that belonged to Nanna and in it she's recorded some property names including Milawa with a special reference to viewing Halley's Comet in 1906 when either at "Milawa" or another property but definitely near Warren.
Patrick and Fanny having 12 children. My Nanna Maud always said Fanny lost her first baby because she was so young. I would guess it was a home birth and possibly no one there to help her.
And there's reference to Mena McAlary and I think another daughter having lovely dark hair. This no doubt is something that has been inherited over the generations. Maud had very dark hair as a young woman and very dark eyes. I was with her one day in Orange when a woman approached us and asked if she was Maud Miller who lived at Warren 40 years earlier and said she recognised her by her lovely eyes. As a child I used to tell Nanna that she had eyes just like my dog "Darkie" - she didn't seem to mind. Maud's youngest brother Ernest didn't marry until late in life and his children are close to me in age. Jenny who died last year had the dark hair and eyes and this has come through again in my daughter. I have a close up photo of Nanna when she was about 25 [4]

Maud passed away[5] on Wednesday, 28th June 1967 at March, New South Wales, Australia, aged 83 years, 8 months, 11 days, and is interred[6] at St Philip's Church of England Cemetery, March, New South Wales.

I've also gone through a lot of Nanna Maud Boulton's (nee Miller) old post cards which are fascinating. Lots of mentions of "Uncle Dan" McAlary and "Auntie Janie" McAlary. Some were even written by Nanna's mother Mary Miller (nee Welsh) and sent to her sons Jack (John) and Tom.

Around 1906-1909 Nanna and her parents John & Mary Miller were living at Doonside, Bunglegumbie via Dubbo. Do you know anything of that property. I don't know if Nanna's father was a manager, worker or just lived there. Mum always said he was a "rolling stone" and Mary complained that she had no decent furniture because it got broken in all the moves.

When Nanna was born her family lived next door to where she spent all her married life at March on land that later became part of Dalton's Kangaroobie Station. I suspect they soon moved to near Mullion Creek as that is where Nanna went to school. She told me of walking to school and even for those times I expect the 5 or 6 miles from March were more than a child would walk. Jan Elder 2014
