Acknowledgments

Thanks to Joseph St. Denis for starting this profile. Click the Changes tab for the details of contributions by Joseph and others. Added 16 Dec 2017 by Francis E. Berkey (Berkey-120). Here I am again in the Millers where I least expected to be. "Broad Run" John Miller was so called because He lived at Winfield, York Twp., Tuscarawas Co., OH and through the area flows a stream called Broad Run. South down Twp. Rt. 75, Broad Run Dairy Rd. NW at the intersection of old Ste. Rt. 39 is Broad Run Cheese House and Winery. 2nd best Swiss Cheese in the state. Best is Steiner's Cheese in Baltic. Oldest continuous in the country, personal friends with grandpa, many visits as a child. FEB

  • Personal family information both written and from family Bibles gathered over several years of travel and library research. Original edition The Berkey Book and also 2nd edition which has many Berkeys that I personally researched as well as Line 26 which is started with Orange Grove Berkey. This is as close as our branch comes but in Line 3 appears his younger sister, Catherine Winchester Berkey who married Joseph Hochstetler who is DJH-4263. This was actually a mistake on the part of the informant named Wade Miller whose mother was a Berkey and since Catherine was in the household of Jacob Berkey he thought she was his daughter but she was not. Many of my relatives are in Descendants of Jacob Hochstetler first published in 1912 by Rev. Harvey Hostetler, D.D. long before computers.
