Enoch Miller, son of Enoch Miller and Hannah Baker (aka Backer) was born in 1733 in what was called the West Fields of Elizabethtown, Essex County, New Jersey.

As given and thought previously, Enoch Miller who married Eliza(beth) Ross was likely not the Enoch Miller who married Keziah Ross on 25 May 1783 in the Presbyterian Church of Westfield, Union County, New Jersey. Enoch and Elizabeth's children were baptized in 1761, and Enoch names his wife (Elizabeth) in his will.[1]

Enoch Miller died 10 January 1813 in Westfield, Essex, New Jersey. He is buried in the colonial pioneer cemetery of the Presbyterian Church Burial Grounds of Westfield, Union County, New Jersey, USA.

Enoch wrote his will on 3 May 1811. It was probated 18 January 1813 in Westfield, Essex Co. (now Union Co.), NJ. He named his wife, Elizabeth, sons (Samuel, Benjamin, & Enoch); daughters (Betsy Willcocks, Polly Dunham, & Hannah Marsh); grandchildren (Samuel Miller, Betsey Miller, Abigail Miller, Amy Miller, Phebe Ross, & Mary Ryno).[2]

His gravestone reads: 'In the memory of Enoch Miller who departed this life January 10th 1813 in the 80th Year of his Age." The memorial reads: Pvt. Enoch Miller, Sr.” born 1733.
