Bedford Gazette (Bedford, Pennsylvania) - July 19, 1912

John A Miller

John A. Miller died at his home near Pleasantville on Friday, July 12, aged 75 years, five months and 23 days, from the effects of a fall received about 18 months ago.

His wife, who was Elizabeth Hartle, and his five sons survive: Josiah of Covovde, Indiana County; George H. and Levi, of Alum Bank; Elmer of Weyant and Clewell at home. Two brothers and two sisters also survive: Levi of Point, David of Alum Bank, Mrs. Elizabeth Miller of Portage and Margaret Miller of Johnstown.

The funeral services were held on Monday, July 15, in the Pleasantville Evangelical Church and were conducted by Rev. W. F. Conley, assisted by Rev. Cousins. Internment was made in Pleasantville Cemetery.

Mr. Miller was a veteran of the Civil War, having served in the 100th Penna. Volunteers, Company D. He was honorably discharged at the close of the war.
