Marriage

There is no proof that Emanual Miller and Harriet Mary Townsend Dixon ever married.

Harriet Mary Townsend married Charles Dixon on 11 Jun 1830 at The Collegiate and Parish Church of St John the Baptist, in Coventry, Warwickshire. Harriet and Charles had four known children together then Charles apparently disappeared.

Thoughts are that Charles was a bankrupt or in some way incarcerated. Charles shows up later in 1851, 1861 and 1871 censuses living separately with other women.

Harriet's mother, Mary, ran a Lodging House on Little Park Street, where Emanuel is shown as "Lodger" in the 1841 census.

Son Henry was born in 1836, and it is believed that Harriet maintained her married name as Henry was baptised "Henry Miller Dixon". Subsequent DNA testing of direct-line male descendants of both Charles and Emanuel in 2010 proved that Henry was Emanual's son and not Charles'.
