The biography for Raymond 'Ray' Miller is empty. What can you add?
I couldn't be happier that there is a 'free' access to genealogy on the internet. Seems like Ancestry is controlling most of the sites now @ $300 a year.
Though my search has started out to locate my father's father, I honestly have done most of my search on my mother's side. She was French, and, as I found out, Acadian French, coupled with Canadian French. (such a long story) Her name was Alice Roy. The Roy ancestry led me to Madawaska, Maine and New Brunswick. From there to Ste Anne, Fredericton, and to the expulsions of the Acadians, to the prisons of Halifax, and before that to Cap Sable, Acadia, to my 6th great grandfather, Jean Roy, dit Laliberte who married an Indian woman from Montreal. (figure that one out)
My only reason to doubt whether I can provide info is that my family file is so large. Through the years I have collected many thousands of obituaries of the French of Polk and Red Lake Counties of Minnesota. It has expanded to over 70,000 names. I now work mostly on the history of these families.
My father's mother came from Germany, went to Omaha, Nebraska, then to Iowa after her husband, Ernest Miller deserted his family in 1890's. My father was born in 1904, so I'm still searching for the father of my father.
I am 86 years old and am willing to provide information to anyone who asks,
I am afraid that in order to keep up with the updates, merges, etc., I will not do justice to maintaining this site. I would be happy though to correspond with anyone's Roy info that leads ultimately to Jean Roy, dit Laliberte and Marie Aubois. Marie Aubois is at this point the subject of my research.
