8/18/1767 Augusta County, Virginia (from link above page136): A "Pat" Miller; Hugh Miller; Thos. Wilson; Saml. Buckanon; & others produce certificates for hemp. Only Hugh Miller identified to date I think is Hugh Miller b-1778 in SC, son of Charles Miller, Jr. It is possible that “Pat” Miller and Hugh Miller are not related. My Miller's in Scotland had ties to the Buchannan's /"Buckanon" as well as several ties to the Wilson's in Virginia in the 1600's and 1700's. Jim Miller

1787 Augusta County, Virginia (from same link above): "(407) Adn. of John Miller granted his son, Patrick Miller." So Patrick Miller administered the estate of his father, John Miller after John's death. Jim Miller

Biography

Patrick was born "at sea" to the Americas. His family initially migrated to Lancaster, PA before migrating south to Augusta, VA with other Scots-Irish. His parents were probably John Miller (1708 Ireland - ca. 1779 Staunton, Augusta, VA) & Martha (ca. 1711 Ireland - VA) who arrived in America from Ulster, Ireland. If they were his parents, a wonderful history is written about their arrival to America in "Mini Biographies of Scots and Scots Descendants (M)" Miller Family http://www.electricscotland.com/webclans/minibios/m/miller_family.htm

Also, John & Martha's children were baptized the Tinkling Spring Presbyterian Meeting House in Augusta County, Virginia, where the Blacks, Hicklins, Gwins, Kinkeads, et al attended. http://www.tinklingspring.org/history.php
