Notes

Added 07 Oct 2017 by Francis E. Berkey (Berkey-120) after getting back from a side trip I am trying to make the early Berkeys match Gingerich & Kreider's Amish-Amish/ Mennonite Genealogies and Jacob Berkey BK21 and 1st ??? Mishler MH6, and 2nd Elizabeth Blaugh BL5 is where I jumped back in. Michael is AKA ML22311 and was the 1st husband of Veronica Miller ML6131. This geographic area is of interest to me as his birth place (Berlin, OH) in 1827 is the same location where my 3rd G-grandfather (William Berkey) was married in 1825. This makes him of the same generation level as William's oldest son, Orange Grove Berkey, b. 29 Apr 1826 and it would be no surprise for them to have known each other growing up as the Berkey family at that time was living with an Amish Jacob Berkey family who was married twice and both wives were Millers, w1 Lizzie & w2 Catherine. I have not yet identified the Gingerich & Kreider listing for Jacob's Miller wives if there is one but have been using The Berkey Book, second edition, Line 3 as reference because I had personal contact with both Ruth Berkey Reichley, the publisher and Wade Miller, her informant on that portion of the family.
