Biography

Mary was born in 1745, likely in Swansea in the Province of Massachusetts Bay (her birth was recorded at Warren, which town was created from Swansea and ceded to Rhode Island two years after Mary's birth).[1] She was the daughter of Benjamin and Mehitable (Thayer) Millerd/Miller.

Mary married John Cowen at Warren in 1769.[2]
