Note: implied by 1840 census, and possible best in 1880 census. If Wm's David bn in 1814, twin of ? (letter from the 1940s says family had three sets of twins).
Note: Age 20-30. U.S. census, Shade Twp., next to William Miller. David is found in the 1840 census next to William Miller: 1M 20-30, 1F 20-30, one in agriculture. A David S. Miller is found in the 1880 census on the page followin g that of William Miller Jr. This David S. Miller may or may not be a family member. Note that the last two census entries in his family appear to be George W. Peters, age 19, a son, and Henry Smith, age 8, a nephew. Given the advanced age of David and his wife, the latter sounds very improbable. Also, how would George have been born between children Josiah and Barclay and yet have a different last name? Very interesting...
There is also a David Miller in Shade Twp. in 1860 (family all born Pa.): David Miller, age 30, a farmer Elizabeth, age 34 Josiah, age 7 Delila?, age 4 Juliann, age 2
