Biography

William was born about 1818.

William Milne married Margaret Menmuir 23 Jan 1848 in Montrose, Angus, Scotland.^[1]

In 1871 William was living at Parkend, Stichill, Roxburghshire with his wife and six children. He was a Gardener.^[2]

Parkend is described as "A cluster of Buildings, on the west side of the Park surrounding Stichill House; they have at one time composed a Farm Steading, but are occupied by Hinds who cultivate the Stichill Estate. the lands belonging to that Proprietor A Baird Esqr."

In 1881 William was living in Hume, Berwickshire with two of his children. He was a forester. His wife Margaret was living with their daughter Annie to help with her new baby. ^[3]

In 1891 William was living with his wife and one daughter at East Lodge, Stichill. He was a forester. ^[4]

In 1901 William was living with his wife, daughter and grand daughter at Main Street Gordon, Berwickshire. He was a retired gardener.^[5]
