Biography

Hannah was born in 1830 in West Virginia, the daughter of Manassah Minear and Lydia Holbert. [1] She passed away in 1870 in Putnam county, Missouri. [2] [3]

She married Thomas Shelton Franklin in 1850 in Sullivan, Indiana. [4] [5] Hannah and Thomas had the following children:

  1. Lydia Ann Franklin (Franklin), born about 1853. She married Cassius C. Franklin in 1874, and died in 1920.
  2. Fidelia Jane Franklin, born about 1855. She died at age 10 in 1865.
  3. James William "Bill" Franklin, born about 1859. He married Jennie Emmaline Coplan in 1881, and died in 1922.
  4. Mary Katherine Franklin (Painter), born about 1861. She married John George Painter in 1883, and died in 1932.
  5. John Thomas Franklin, born about 1863. He married Lucinda Esfronia Allen in 1890, and died in 1936.
  6. Benjamin Butler Franklin, born about 1866. He married Laura W Craig in 1888, and Annie Rachael Geary in 1892. He died in 1906.
  7. Corra "Carrie" Alice Franklin (Neighbors), born about 1869. She married Joseph Grant Neighbors in 1886, and died in 1931.

Hannah died in 1870. [3] After her death, Thomas Shelton Franklin remarried to Eliza Jane House.

  • In 1850, Hannah and her husband Thomas lived in Sullivan county, Indiana.[5]
  • In 1860, Hannah and her husband Thomas lived in Schuyler county, Missouri.[6]
  • In 1870, Hannah and her husband Thomas lived in Putnam county, Missouri.[7]

Obituary for Hannah Minear Franklin is in the Lancaster Excelsior newspaper, page 3 in the Glenwood Correspondence section, dated Saturday, May 21, 1870. It is also printed in the Unionville Republican newspaper, page 2, dated Friday, May 26, 1870.
