Biography
Samuel Minot aka Minott[1] was born in about 1635 in Dorchester, Suffolk, Massachusetts Bay. He was the fifth son of George Minot and Martha (Stocke) Minot. He married Hannah (Howard) Minot on June 23, 1670. Together, they were the parents of Jonathan Minot. When Samuel Minot passed away, his son fourteen year-old son Jonathan Minot chose his uncle John Minot as his guardian. Some sources have the death of Samuel Minot listed as 1707, but that is probably too late. It is more likely that he passed away in about 1687.
