Thanks for taking responsibility for Orphaned Profiles. This After Adopting Orphans FAQ explains the special attention adopted profiles will sometimes need from their profile managers. One quick way to find the profiles you adopted is by searching your Contributions List for the word "adopted" and "manager." You can find a quick link to your Contributions List in the My WikiTree dropdown menu.
If you will be working with any profiles needing GEDCOM cleanup, the AGC tool can help with formatting so that you can concentrate on the research. You can read more about it in the WikiTree AGC FAQ.
Let me know if you have any questions on how to find and record sources, merge duplicates, clean up GEDCOM biographies, and interpret the Suggestions report. I'm here to help!
Hi, I am Dorothy, a WikiTree mentor!! Are you enjoying your time on WikiTree so far?
Now that you have had a little time to try our site, there are a few more features you may find useful:
For instance, ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards; including some tips on writing biographies
Also a friendly reminder about adding sources and references to your profile. Sources are critically important for genealogy and you will be helping future genealogists by listing where the information you've added came from. This page describes different kinds of sources: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Sources
Hi Jacinta and welcome to WikiTree. I hope that you will find it to be a great source of information as well as a positive an experience as I have.
Please let me know if there is anything I can do to assist you with your research efforts.
BTW! The details passed to me on your branch of the family were very rough. I have no grea trust in the details and am therefore very happy for you to take-on and correct in every way needed!
I was looking at your tags, and I'd like to suggest that you change the tags NA, so that you have at least one tag for each surname or location you are interested to research. For example, one tag for Mison etc. By doing that, you can then click on it and any other surname tags you add and you'll be taken to a page where you'll see other genealogists who are also following those surnames and locations.
Furthermore, any activity associated with those surname tags will be reported in your daily activity list.
In doing so, we have some idea where your genealogy interest are so we can make you a full WikiTree member.
A warm welcome to the WikiTree family! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site youve ever used and it is FREE. WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!
What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research youd like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree? When you confirm your email address, youll have an opportunity to volunteer and tell us about your genealogical interests.
Once you volunteer, one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership, and youll be on your way!
Were really glad youre here. More importantly, have fun growing your family tree and connecting to persons with the same interest.
