Biography

Thomas Bondurant Mitchell was the son of Mitchell-13225 and Bondurant-134. He was born in 1829 in Franklin County, Virginia.

Thomas served in the 10th Virginia Cavalry and was present at the surrender at Appomattox, Virginia. [2]Later, he was a dry goods merchant.[3]

He married Catherine Elizabeth Price.

They had the following children:

  1. William Duke, b 1856[4]
  2. Mary Loula, b 11 Sep 1859[5]
  3. Anna Lee (17 Jul 1861 - 12 Jan 1945)[6]
  4. Belva
  5. Edwin[2]

Catherine died in 1888 and Thomas married Frances 'Fannie' Hope Smith, 2 Nov 1893 in Franklin County, Virginia.[7]

He died in 1916 at the age of 88 in Roanoke, Virginia.[8]

His estate was sold to Marshall Wingfield.[2]

Buried in Mitchell Family Cemetery on farm in Shady Grove, Franklin Co, Virginia.
