It has been stated that Thomas Mitchell who married at Malden Nov 1655 to Mary Molton[1] might be the grandson of Francis Cooke.[2] Robert Wakefield believes the records establish that they are not the same man.[3] The parents given as Experience Mitchell and Jane Cooke are not currently accepted by the Mayflower Society as the proven parents of Thomas Mitchell of Malden.[4]

Some of these deeds mention his father Experience Mitchell and grandfather Francis Cooke. Thereby proving that the Thomas of Malden/Charlestown (this profile) was not the son of Experience Mitchell. Thomas the son of Experience removed to Rhode Island about 1673. [3]
It is likely that this Thomas lived in the part of Charlestown that became Malden from his marriage in 1655 until his death 1 Sept 1709.[3][1][6]
