Andrew married Abigail Atwood on 12 November 1686, in Suffolk, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America.

They were the parents of at least 7 sons and 9 daughters.

He died on 25 November 1736, in Haverhill, Essex, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America, at the age of 74, and was buried in Pentucket Cemetery, Haverhill, Essex, Massachusetts, United States.

Research Notes

Thomas Mitchell (abt.1630-1709) and Mary (Moulton) Mitchell (1635-1711) were previously attached as his parents. However, there is no source to support this assertion.

1. ↑ Note: Andrew Mitchell's father: Cutter and other sources say Thomas Mitchell was "probably" Andrew's father. This seems to be because Thomas and his wife Mary Moulton lived in Malden as did Phillip Atwood, father of Andrew's wife Abigail. Oddly, though, Andrew and Abigail were not married in the Malden Church, but by a JP in Charlestown. Andrew joined the Charlestown Church two years later. But Thomas proved not to be Andrew's father: In land records of Middlesex County vol 13 p540: Thomas Mitchell of Charlestown...Marriner..."to my only son John...". This includes land on Moulton Island from his wife Mary Moulton.
