Biography

Bertha was born about 1876. Bertha Mitchell ... ^[1]

I believe that Henry S Mitchell is her adoptive father. I believe her mother had her before she married Henry Mitchell. Bertha's marriage certificate and death certificate have conflicting birth dates. I cannot find a census with her in the family for 1880 or 1890.

Marriage record found today!! Bertha is listed as Bertha Wood - her mother's last name and there is no information for her parents at all.

Bertha's death record is the only document I have linking her to her parents. I have searched Census records, marriage, death, birth etc and a family tree on familysearch.org - They are missing from the 1890 record and/or the 1891 Canadian census record. It would be great to find them there. It is looking pretty close that I have the right people, but I would like to be sure.

(Even though there is no name or date on the back of the photo, I am assuming it is Bertha Blanche Mitchell Dickinson, since the photo was found in a folder with Frank Ellery Dickinson and the style of the photo looks to be before or on or about 1931, which is the year Bertha died)

Living in Cabano Quebec in 1931 - with Husband Frank and son Frank Jr. Also with daughter Georgina, her husband Beloni Rossingnal and son Phillippe.

Note - some sources on Ancestry have Elizabeth as a middle name for Bertha.
