Andrew son of James Mitchell and Catherine McMeekin was born 1st and baptised 24th January 1823.

Married Isabella JARDINE, daughter of then-deceased shipmaster Robert JARDINE at the Parish Church of St Stephen in Edinburgh in 1855.

Emigrated to Australia in 1856 with brothers Hugh and James and their families on the ship 'Commodore Perry' and worked on Andrew Wauchope's property 'Moredun'.

Died following a long illness of influenza in 1895.
