DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Mary by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Mary:
"First-hand information as remembered by Richard Spivey, Friday, April 11, 2014. " is not a valid source. Jason W. Crews was born after 1900 and could not have "First-hand information" on events more than 100 years before his birth.
"First-hand information as remembered by Michael Sullivan, Friday, May 23, 2014. " is not a valid source for the same reason.
"...Geraldine Honeycutt maternal for WT.ged ..." is also an invalid source, because it can't be inspected to see it's claims and if there are valid sources cited to support said claims.
This profile has existed for nine years, yet not one genealogically acceptable source has been cited to support it’s claims.
The person hasn’t even been proven to exist, yet alone to have been married to her claimed spouse. Unless acceptable proof of a marriage can be presented within a reasonable time, say one month, I believe the two profiles should be unlinked as husband and wife and a research note added to each profile indicating that they have been claimed as spouses, but no evidence has been found to support the claim.
I have reviewed my tree on Ancestry and find no documentation for my Mary Mitchell (birth between 1695-1700) being married to James Lee.
My records are that Mary Mitchell was the daughter of John Mitchell, and the wife of William Yarbrough. Again though, no documentation. And I list no children.
My information was gathered from another family member who did research 60 years ago, and did not document sources on anything.
I agree to separating the profiles of Mary Mitchell and James Lee. I suggest perhaps the children are his, not theirs.
Mitchell-7752 and Mitchell-7509 appear to represent the same person because: same name, same husband, dates are slightly different, no sources to defend either date
