Biography
Eugene Mitchell was born Oct 13 1866 in Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia. His parents were Russell Crawford Mitchell (1837-1905) and Deborah Margaret Sweet (1847-1887). [1] [2]
His siblings were Gospero S. Mitchell, Edward Mitchell, Jesse Mitchell, Gordon Forrest Mitchell, and Robert M. Mitchell.
In the 1890 city census index of Atlanta, Eugene M. Mitchell appears on line 502. [3]
He was married to Mary Isabelle Stephens (1872-1919) November 8, 1892. [4]
He was the father of author Margaret Munnerlyn Mitchell (1900-1949) and Stephens Mitchell.
Eugene Mitchell died June 17, 1944. He is buried in Atlanta's Oakland Cemetery. [1]

Eugene Mitchell and Luke are 13th cousins once removed. We were both born in Atlanta, Georgia. I own a book sold off from his voluminous personal library, a great compendium of early 19th-century literature, signed inside the front cover, "Eugene Mitchell."
