page 31, Washington County North Carolina, "The last will and testament of Thomas Mitchell was proven at the August session of the Court in 1784, though it is dated in June 1784. His wife was called Agnes. The will is in will book 1 page 8 of Washington County. Children are as follows: 1) Margaret Mitchell, married a McAdow {McAdoo}, 2) James Mitchell, 3) Elizabeth Mitchell, the wife of John THOMPSON, 4) Sarah Mitchell, 5) Thomas Mitchell. Executors: his wife Agnes and son in law, John THOMPSON."
