Otis was born on March 30, 1894, the fourth son and fifth child of Travis Mixon and Frances Hodges.[1] He was probably born in Garrads, Wright's Creek, Geneva, Alabama, where he and his family were living in 1900. [2]
He had brown eyes.
As of around 1917, he had dark hair, and both a medium build and height. [3]
In the first week of May 1950, while on vacation in Fort Pierce, Florida, Otis slipped in the shower and fractured his hip. Five weeks later, on June 3, 1950, he was transferred from Fort Pierce to Dothan, Alabama in an ambulance which collided with a drunk log trucker in Clewiston, FL.
He passed away in a Dothan Hospital around 5pm on June 5, 1950. [4][5]
