Congratulations, you've been a member for a month!
Check out Beyond the Basics of WikiTree for a guide on some of our more advanced features such as Projects, Categories, Merging, Templates and Volunteer Opportunities!
We're very active on our social sites and we have an excellent blog where you'll find our monthly newsletter as well as tips, interviews with our members and guest posts from others in the genealogy community.
Try our Relationship Finder! It searches 20 generations. If you find a duplicate profile, the other managers are probably related. You can use this to find out how!
I'm Terry, a WikiTree Mentor. Hope you're enjoying our site. Our primary vision is to build a collaborative tree with just one profile per person, so please make sure to look for duplicates on WikiTree before adding a profile. Having dates and locations attached to every person assists in our mission as well!
Feel free to check out How To Use WikiTree. It's a great step-by-step guide to get you started.
We also have our Help Index with links to topics you may have questions on. Don't forget our G2G Forum where many of our generous members help each other out.
Hi Susanne, I know exactly where you are coming from with the excitement of research. I also enjoy researching other families as well as my own. I don't suppose your Richards family were in the UK in Essex?
Hi Susanne, Thank you for volunteering to help grow our World Wide Family Tree.
You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add any Profiles to WikiTree.
Everything on WikiTree is a collaborative work in progress so dont forget to read and sign our Honor Code. This is what keeps WikiTree a friendly and helpful community. We have many friendly members, feel free to ask if you have any questions.
My name is Susanne Mole, Dobie, Richards. Mole being my birth name, Dobie my married name and Richards a deed poll change after divorce: still a family name my paternal grandmother Grace Richards.
I started researching my family after my father (Jack Mole) slid into dementia (he is 96) and I took over his papers.
I am now totally addicted and stay up until the early hours trying to track people down. I really don't care if it is for someone else's family tree, the excitement is still there.
I have hit some frustrating blocks and hope that by sharing my information I can get feedback and perhaps help others with their discoveries.
To help you find your way, the help pages and search features can be accessed through the links on the upper right hand corner of almost any page. Feel free to post a question in the G2G Forum or on a relevant profile page.
If you would like to contribute to Wikitree, please click the Volunteer link to receive your Volunteer badge, and post a comment here on your profile to tell us that you are interested in family history and wish to join us.
We will be very glad to welcome you to the WikiTree Community.
