Biography

William Monk was born in Dobb's Co NC, William could not have possibly fought in the Rev war in Georgia, his father Menan Monk never lived in South Carolina. William Monk moved to Wilkes Co Georgia in 1785 with his parents. The DAR no longer accept's William Monk as a Rev soldier.

He died in 1825 in Bulloch County, Georgia and is buried at Bulloch Family Cemetery in Statesboro, Bulloch County, Georgia.[2]
