Cindy, William Monks was instrumental in the killing of my two great uncle brothers in the Civil war in Missouri and Arkansas. In 1863 Monks arrested John Calvin Hawkins and had him killed by firing squad in north central Arkansas. In 1864 monks rode up to the cabin of Benjamin F Hawkins and personally shot him on his front porch in the presence of his wife and two year old daughter. Richard W. Hawkins, [email address removed]
