Biography

In 1870 George was living with his parents Daniel and Rebecca at Blacksberg, Montgomery County, Virginia. Daniel was a farmer, his wife Rebecca keeps house and they had children Ora E age 5 George C age 3 and William H age 2. Living in the same building (or maybe next door) were Rebecca's parents Peter Crumpacker, age 65, his wife Rececca also age 65 and their son John age 21. [1]

They were still living in Blacksberg when the 1880 census was taken. Daniel was shown as age 40 and still farming, Rebecca was shown as age 35. They now had children Ella age 14, George age 13, William age 11, Birtie age 10, Ann age 7, Benjamin age 5, Laura age 3 and May one month old. [2]

George married Annie Crownover in 1892. (date from 1900 census, name as per his death record).

In 1900, George and Annie were living in Big Lick, Roanoke, Virginia, George age 33 was a farmer like his father, his wife Annie F was age 28, born June 1871, and they had a 7 year old daughter Cecil, who was born November 1892. [3]

George and Annie were living in Dublin, Pulaski, Virginia in 1910. George was now a cashier working in a local bank, Annie kept house and their daughter Cecil had no occupation. Annie gave her birthplace on this census as Pennsylvania [4]

George Cline Moomaw died on 3 June 1960 at Pulaski, Pulaski, Virginia, USA, he was 93 years old. His birth date was given then as 21 December 1866, his parents were named as Daniel Moomaw and ? Crumpacker and his wife was Annie Crownover. [5]
