Biography

Sarah (Mooney) Merchant came free to the Colony of New South Wales (1788-1900)

Bernard Mooney migrated from Ireland on the ship Champion in 1840 with wife Mary and 5 children including a 2 year old Sarah. A 6th child, also named Bernard Mooney was born at the end of the voyage.

They traveled as Bounty Immigrants from Liverpool.

Sarah Mooney married Richard Merchant in 1858 at Patrick's Plain in New South Wales.

Sarah C. Merchant passed away in 1902 in or about Inverell in New South Wales, Australia.

6 Children on NSW BDM, first at Patrick's Plain in 1861, the rest at Warialda, last in 1881. 5 now added, the 6th is William John. Can only find birth:
