William and Mary Ann Barratt and their family were New Zealand Company emigrants to Wellington, New Zealand in the ship London leaving London, England on January 1st 1842; arriving Port Nicholson, Wellington, New Zealand on the 1st May 1842.
From the London's passenger list we learn that William and Mary were both 33 years of age, William was a painter & glazier by trade, and they had with them 1 boy aged 4 years and 5 girls aged 9, 7, 6, 3, years with baby Ellen only 3 months old. [2]
After William Barratt died, Mary married William Foote in 1861 in New Zealand.[3]
She passed away in 1889. [4] Mary was mentioned on a memorial in St Michael & All Angel's Anglican Church Cemetery, Porangahau, Central Hawke's Bay District, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand with a death date of 5 May 1889.[5]
