Biography

Doris Ada was born in 1904 She was the natural daughter of Herbert and Louisa Moore.. On August 20th 1907 Louisa (Doris's mother) wrote to a Mrs Howard explaining that she was agreeable to Mrs Howard adopting Doris. She was subsequently adopted by William Howard & Mary Jane Jefferies. Her adoptive birth certificate was not registered until 1950 [1] She married Philip Charles Tunnicliffe in 1932 [2] She passed away in 1988[3]

Research Note

Not to be confused with Ada Doris Howard, born 1912 the daughter of Ada and Herbert Howard. She married Aubrey Scot in 1932
