Colin Moore was born in Cromer, Norfolk, England on February 16,1920.[1] He was the son of Ernest Moore and Beatrice Thornley . When Colin was about 11 they moved to Lincoln Street in Norwich next door to the Larner family. As he was an only child Colin often spent time with the family next door. The Moores were Anglicans and Colin was confirmed at Norwich Cathedral.
On September 9, 1945 Colin married Dorothy Larner in St. Peter Mancroft Norwich.[2] They began their married life in Norwich and had their first child Janet there, but she was a 'blue baby' and died when she was seven months old. Colin remembered her anniversaries until he went to join her. Colin was an architect and on account of his work they moved to Bristol and from there to Chelmsford where Colin designed schools for the Essex county council. He drove a Morris Minor for many years.
When they were living in Bristol Colin and Dorothy had another baby, Juliet, but she only lived for 10 hours, a third child died before birth so Colin and Dorothy adopted a son. After they moved to Chelmsford Colin became very involved with St. Andrew's Church.
After Dorothy died in 1994 Colin spent many weekends with her sister Alice and husband Vic in Norwich. Colin had retained his love for Norwich cathedral and appreciated the chance to worship there on Sunday mornings.
Colin had good friends in Chelmsford and he had planned to go to France with one of them on May 3, 2000 but while he was waiting for the bus in Chelmsford he had a heart attack and died very suddenly.[3]
