Biography

Joshua Moore was born in 1753.[citation needed] According to the import of his profile, he was born in Sussex County, Delaware.

Joshua Moore was documented in Greene County, Georgia in 1797 when he, Thos. B. Wyatt, and Joseph Jackson appraised the Estate of Edward Jackson.[1]

Joshua Moore of the county of Greene, state of Georgia, set his hand and seal to his Last Will and Testament on the 26th day of February 1816 making special bequests unto:[2]

  • daughter Nancy Wright
  • Son Gilley Moore
  • son Spencer Moore
  • son Joshua Moore
  • daughter Patsey Gatlin
  • son Samuel Moore
  • five grand children, Samuel M. Gatlin, Wing_ W. Gatlin, Angelina Gatlin, Alla Gatlin & Hillard I. Gatlin

His son, Gilley Moore was appointed Sole Executor, and the will was witnessed by John Winfield, Charles Bailey, Bathsheba (her mark) Tyler. The will was proven in the Court of Ordinary on the 6th of May 1816.

Joshua Moore died in 1816.[2]
